[uhn-muhk]
verb:
[muhk]
noun:
I’ve always been drawn to running water. I love kayaking and paddleboarding. I had even narrowed down my final move choices based on which river towns I could picture myself living in.
Running water reacts instantly to barriers placed in its way. Whether it’s the rock that’s always been there, the fell tree in the storm, or the P. Terry’s burger bag floating on by, the water adjusts, responds, and it continues. Sometimes slower, sometimes schlepping the trash with it, but it persists.
Another thing about running water is that no matter what is in it, the water itself isn’t what’s gross. Water is water. Once we remove what does not belong and reshape what’s always blocked it, the water can return to its original beauty.
This imagery is how I view both the therapy and curriculum design processes.
As people, we face genetic barriers such as addiction or mental illness, environmentally seismic shifts including abandonment or abuse; or just straight trash talk from others signaling you are not enough. However; You–the water–are inherently whole and healthy. Perhaps you don’t feel whole or don’t think you even know what it means to be healthy, and I understand that fear and dismay. . . However, from my professional and educated opinion, you just need some support while you kindly UnMuck your world, mind, and life.
With work on both your side and mine, I know we can jostle loose the blockage around your experience of you. For more information on how I approach UnMucking, choose either the Counseling or Curriculum Design tab to see services that apply to your needs.
